A design guideline for the mental well-being of crew members in crewed spaceflight

We are currently standing strong and prepared to witness the largest boom in the space industry. Manned space missions till now are limited to the space station and few to the moon. Each mission is extremely expensive and it contributes significantly towards the development of space technology and humanity. The mental state of the crew members is being studied for a long time and here I am jotting down a few design guidelines which are important for the mental well being of the crew members in any space mission:

Teamwork
o  Whatever may be the size of the team, each crew must know the basics of working in a team.
o  Each crew must have their proper work schedule done previously and must be properly implemented.
o  Communication between teammates matters a lot in some jobs.
o  All crew must have the ability to balance between workspace, personal space, and team’s space.

Emergency cases
o  All the cases of accidents during the mission must be worked out. Hope is the only thing that will keep the team’s spirit alive.
o  The connection with the planet must be well established. Digital and physical connections are both important for any kind of unplanned emergency. The digital connection will also enable the crew to get in touch with people on earth and can interact using advanced technologies available.

Architecture
o  Lightings and the use of colors inside the habitat must be done from expert guidance. It impacts the crew members to a large extent and is directly linked to their wellbeing.
o  The movement inside the habitat & locating each item inside the module must be well thought so that it don’t create unnecessary distraction and problems.
o  Innovative spaces must be thought off so that the crew members living several miles away can feel earthly and easily get used to the new climate.

These are some of the quick crucial points I jotted down. It's surprising to observe that the movies like Moon (2009), Martian (2015), Interstellar (2014), Stowaway (2021), etc. have been depicted well. Movies are a wonderful tool that can give experiences and also lays a founding stone of further exploration in our dreams to leap further.
